Surf Ski record attempt and fundraiser
Hank McGregor and Quinton Rutherford will be attempting to break 2 world records simultaneously in a double surfski, one being for the longest distance in a 24hr period and the other being the fastest 100 sea nautical miles.
Hank and Quintons’ mission is not just the glory of beating records but also to raise awareness and funds for children afflicted with Leukaemia as, Farren Grace, the 6-year-old daughter of Luke and Kate, is being treated for Leukaemia.
Besides sponsorship of the record attempt, funds will also be raised by selling raffle tickets for a double carbon Fenn elite worth R35000. Tickets are R500 each and are available from Dave Harker 083 287 8800. The lucky draw will be held at PWC the week after the attempt.
They are going to attempt this feat during the first 2 weeks of November when weather conditions are favourable to do so. The starting point will be Sodwana Bay and the end will be at The Point Water Sports Club, Vetchs beach, Durban.
If you are interested in getting involved or contributing towards this event and cause, please contact Quinton on: 0833002401. Please see attachment for more details
Boat inspection weekend 27th and 28th November
On this weekend, the club safety officers will offer their services to assist club boating members with their annual boating Certificate of Fitness (COF) for 2022.
Boat inspection fees for this year are:
R500 for 6m and under
R700 for over 6m
If you intend to make use of this club service to members and attend the boat inspection weekend, please send an email to jackie@pwsc.co.za requesting your invoice for the boat inspection fees.
Please Check out https://www.durbanskiboatclub.co.za/safety/ for the requirements and paperwork so you can start getting your act together before the inspection dates. Trying to do it all on the day inevitability leads to disappointment and delays.
For any queries in this regard, you can contact Skinny: derrickferreira56@gmail.com or Ryan: ryan@durbanyamaha.co.za
We look forward to seeing you at the club
